The differences I explained are about whether the duplicate elements can be stored, indexing concept is there or not, insertion order of the elements is pre-served or it is a random order, whether it is ordered collection or un-ordered collection. Popular implemented class of List is ArrayList and for Set is HashSet. Which one is suitable for accessing elements randomly and which one is useful for quick searching out of Set and List. Along with practical demonstration in Java programming, I have explained all the above differences between List and Set interfaces of Collections framework in Java.
