The Fred Hollows Foundation works to end avoidable blindness and continues the legacy of Professor Fred Hollows, eye surgeon, activist, and ally to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Since Fred’s landmark eye health work across 465 communities in 1976, the Foundation has remained committed to partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to support self-determination and community-led health solutions. This video covers the Foundation’s Indigenous Australia Program principles, highlighting the importance of respect, trust, leadership, equity, and genuine collaboration in working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
