The difference between copy types Copying in 3D Max has 3 modes. In the first case(Copy ), you copy the object that there is no connection between the objects In the second case (Instance), a connection between objects is established by copying, so whatever you do on one of the objects is applied to the other. The third mode of copy (Reference): In this mode, the dimension of copying is one-way communication between objects. Whatever is done to the copied object does not affect the original shape. When modeling, this is a technique to model the object in low poly mode. Simultaneously copy it (reference) and convert it to high poly to see the result in simultaneous poly modes.
