Due to the Corona pandemic, there has certainly been a certain increase in this (especially among young people), but we should not forget that this is a really serious and dangerous mental illness that should not be taken lightly. There is help in many forms (worry hotline, doctors and, in severe cases, inpatient facilities) which can help you to live with it, since you don't really get rid of depression like you get rid of a cold at some point. Depression and its triggers last forever. You can only learn to live with it and avoid such triggers, or use various mental techniques to calm it down. In many easier cases it is enough if you have someone who listens to you and/or is there for that person in some other way. However, if it becomes more dangerous and those affected begin to injure themselves, a doctor should definitely be consulted.
