When Strength Builds Kingdoms Without God

In the middle of Genesis 10, something shifts. Up to this point, we’ve seen families grow into nations— God’s design unfolding through generations. But then one man stands out. Nimrod. Not because of faith… but because of power. He is described as mighty. A builder. A ruler. And for the first time, we see the beginning of human kingdoms. This is where something new begins: Strength… without surrender. Power… without acknowledgment of God. Genesis 10 shows us that not everything that grows is aligned with God. It’s possible to build something strong, successful, and influential— and still be moving in the wrong direction. Scripture reminds us: Some trust in chariots and horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord. True strength is not found in what we build— but in knowing God. This tension is not just in Genesis.
