I don't use hay nets when I travel with my equines. I worry about them getting a leg hung in the net and I don't like all the hay blowing around in the trailer. I use slow feeder hay nets in my corrals on cold nights. I also hang them off my stock trailer while I'm at the trailhead or at a show. I prefer the nets with smaller holes ( 11/2").
