“When Will It End?” is a deeply personal roots reggae tribute and protest song born from grief, outrage, and love for Trinidad and Tobago. This song was written after another heartbreaking act of gun violence in Belmont, Trinidad, where innocent lives were taken, including a two-year-old child, while a young mother continues fighting for her life. For my family, this pain is not distant. We have lost more than one loved one to senseless violence, including another infant and an uncle who was killed after coming home from work. There are no words for this kind of pain. This song is not about politics, revenge, or hate. It is a cry for healing. A cry for mothers, fathers, children, families, and communities who keep paying the price for violence they did not create. Our country is bleeding. The innocent are paying the price.
