Where Are You
The story of Adam and Eve's choice Verse 1 [verse] In a garden God had planted, everything was right and good — He placed a man there, placed a woman there — just like He should. He knew them and they loved Him, and they talked with Him each day — They knew the sound of His footsteps coming down the garden way. Genesis 1:31; Genesis 2:8–15; Genesis 2:25; Genesis 3:8 Verse 2 [verse] But a voice slipped through the garden, slow and smooth and sly: "Did God really say that? Are you sure? Give it a try." They listened to that whisper and they chose to disobey — And they felt it in an instant — something good was lost that day. Genesis 3:1–7; 2 Corinthians 11:3; Romans 5:12 Verse 3 [verse] So they stitched the fig leaves quickly and they hid themselves in shame, They had never felt so frightened — and the garden wasn't the same. Then they heard His footsteps coming — and they knew that voice so well — Still His voice rang through the garden, calling them by name: Genesis 3:7–10 Chorus [chorus] "Where are you?" "Come back to Me!" Even after we have wandered, still His love comes breaking through — When we hide, God comes looking — and His love will find you too. Genesis 3:9; Luke 15:4–7; Romans 5:8; Psalm 139:7–10 Final Verse [verse] Then He covered them with kindness through the long and fading light — He whispered of a Savior who would come and make it right. The garden gate was closing but a promise filled the air: "A Seed will crush the darkness — and I'll meet you even there." Genesis 3:15; Genesis 3:21; Isaiah 7:14; Galatians 4:4–5 Chorus — Final [chorus] "Where are you?" "Come back to Me!" Even after we have wandered, still His love comes breaking through — When we hide, God comes looking — and His love will find you too.
