Which Jesus
1. The Jesus of the World Cultural/Man-Made Version: The world often shapes Jesus into someone who fits society’s preferences. Examples: A “good moral teacher” who just taught love and kindness, but not the Son of God. A symbol of tolerance who never confronts sin. A prosperity figure who only wants you healthy, wealthy, and happy. A historical character, stripped of His divinity, miracles, resurrection, or authority. Main Problem: This version leaves out repentance, the cross, and Jesus’ exclusive claim to be the only way to God. It’s a Jesus that comforts people but doesn’t confront their sin. 2. The Jesus of the Bible Fully God, Fully Man: John 1:1,14 – “The Word was God… and the Word became flesh.” Savior Through the Cross: Matthew 1:21 – He came to save His people from their sins, not just to make life easier. The Only Way to God: John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Risen and Reigning: Acts 2:36 – God has made Him Lord and Christ. Judge of All: Acts 17:31 – He will judge the world in righteousness. Loving but Holy: He shows mercy but also calls people to repentance and holiness (Luke 13:3, John 8:11).
