Ethan surprises Theresa and comes home early from a business trip. He finds her cheating, which causes his drinking to get out of hand and is killed in a fight with Theresa's lover. In guilt Theresa drinks to much and dies of alcohol poisoning. After the burial Little Ethan dreams of his parents working through their problems and finally being happy.
