Yesterday I went on a day trip around various locales in Belgium, filming pretty much any train that moved from 6am to 11pm before heading home. After disembarking from this train at Geraardsbergen, the train I filmed crawled instead of accelarating fast. Why. Why do trains in Belgium depart so slowly like this?
I've noticed this in Luxembourg too and my friend saw this happen lots in France. Any input would be appreciated as to why this happens so often. It's a 60kph speed limit on this bit of track and a clear signal and the brakes clearly work, so yeah, what's going on? It's so difficult filming these trains accelarate at their maximum rate because of this.
Serivce was S3 to Denderleeuw.
