Why do we Worship
Why do we Worship For we Worship our Lord Worship is Central to our faith We go to receive Him in the Eucharist We wish to return to our Creator But Augustine said it best You have made us for yourself, Lord But our hearts are restless, until they rest in You [pre chorus] In the Glory Cloud, Cue this Glory Now Jesus gives us His command Do this in remembrance of Me Been doing this since AD.33 [chorus] When Our Lord’s Mel-keys-a-dek says This is My Body, this is My Blood This consecration splits the veil on every altar And Heaven then touches the earth So we’ve got history and tradition We have the water, the wine, the bread and a Miracle We get liturgy, offerings, sacrifice and a commission at every Mass Complete with the bells and the smells The pulpit, the candles, fonts, and Sacraments The prayers, the vestments, and a bigger book Altar with crucifixes and the sign of the cross Posture like genuflecting, ancient rituals and prayers Priesthood, succession, blessed oil, Real Presence I’m tellin ya Jesus fulfilled what was started in the OLD He gave us instructions Holy Thursday And Right after His Resurrection He celebrated Mass on the road to Emmaus see Luke chapter:24 [pre chorus] In the Glory Cloud; Cue this Glory Now! Jesus gives us His command Do this in remembrance of Me Been doing this since AD.33 [chorus] When Our Lord’s Mel-keys-a-dek says This is My Body, this is My Blood This consecration splits the veil on every altar And Heaven then touches the earth Lord, it is good to be Catholic, I pray I don’t mess up this gift from God Jesus is actually present with us It’s no contest to any facsimile of praise A Heavenly host at each banquet And a cloud of witnesses attending Angels and Saints join in our Worship And the Souls in Purgatory – are there Too [pre chorus] In the Glory Cloud, Cue this Glory Now Jesus gives us His command Do this in remembrance of Me Been doing this since AD.33 [chorus] When Our Lord’s Mel-keys-a-dek says This is My Body, this is My Blood This consecration splits the veil on every altar And Heaven then touches the earth..
