Rust has been a very big part of my life for 6 years, and I really wanted to enjoy the game. There are so many things about it that are so cool and interesting to play with. However, the brutality of the game proved to be too much. Additionally, I am unhappy with the current direction Facepunch studios is taking this survival game. I don't like how much content there is now; the game feels bloated with stuff it doesn't need. Rust also feels very pay to win nowadays. I think many of the features locked behind DLC such as the Arctic Suit, Factory Door, Abyss Torch, Barrels, and many more give players a significant competitive advantage against players who don't have them. I tried playing on PVE servers (short for Player vs Environment). I also tried playing on Roleplay servers and Softcore. None of them were able to do it for me, so I decided to try running my own Rust server. Things didn't so to plan, which led to me shutting it down. Since making that decision, Facepunch Studios has released the Soft Refresh update for the game mode, where they removed the Reclaim Terminal. This was a necessary addition for my server to function as intended. Now I can't launch a new Rust server even if I wanted to! In this video, I explain in detail the issues I've had playing this game and how I've been much happier ever since moving away from it. I want to make this video to help other people who may be stuck in the game trap I've found myself in not enjoying the game but can't bring themselves to leave it.
