I recently had two individuals share real situations where their notarized documents were rejected—one involving a UPS notarization and another involving an attorney.
The issue? A required element was missing from the notarial certificate: how the signer appeared.
In this video, I break down these real scenarios and explain what went wrong, so you can avoid making the same mistake in your notary business.
If you are a Florida Notary Public or Loan Signing Agent, it is critical to understand the required elements outlined in Florida Statutes Chapter 117.05 (4), including:
✔️ Venue
✔️ Notarization type
✔️ How the signer appeared (physical or online)
✔️ Date of notarization
✔️ Signer’s name
✔️ Identification presented
✔️ Notary signature and printed name
✔️ Official seal
Missing even one of these elements can result in a rejected document.
