Today’s writing session completely changed my movie.
At first, everything felt flat and honestly kind of boring. The scenes technically worked, but there was no energy underneath them. Then I realized the problem: I didn’t fully know what my character specifically wanted in the scene.
Once I found that intention — and connected it to the larger emotional goal of the movie — the entire scene changed. The dialogue got sharper, the conflict became clearer, and suddenly the movie felt alive again.
