Wild Turkey Spring Behavior - 3.30.25

I came to the realization recently that what has become a totally normal and expected occurrence in my backyard may actually be something worth sharing, haha. I started befriending the wild flock of turkeys, both toms and hens, in the autumn of 2023, and as a result, I basically now have the complete trust and comfort of the entire flock. I have 5 toms that eat from my hands, and I've basically converted my backyard into a haven for the turkeys, haha. They all feel extremely comfortable around me, especially because I offer them fresh water daily and some bird seed whenever they stop by. As a result, I've basically had a front-row seat to a lot of fun and interesting wild turkey behavior. As it is spring now, some of the males have been quite busy displaying for the women, flirting it up and doing their flirty dances that include strutting, drumming (I believe that is this deep voiced-sound they make that unfortunately my camera is incapable of picking up), and stomping. I haven't been able to find many high quality videos of these specific behaviors online, and certainly not this up close and personal, so I thought it would be fun to film and share it. I am not a professional videographer by any means, so this video is not perfect by any means either, but I enjoyed filming them go about their day and enjoying the yard. The fact that I have been able to witness them grow up into two handsome toms has been so cool. :') Anyways, I don't care if this is not the content you subscribed to me for.
