It was a pleasure to welcome him back to the course for the Pinker's Pond Apprentice Handicap, a race named after the horse that gave Willie Carson the first of his 3,828 winners in Britain, in a seven-furlong apprentice handicap at Catterick Racecourse on 19 July 1962.
