While I don't particularly recommend this method for every ripping task, it was very handy because there were so many messed-up seams in my project! It saved fatigue in my hand, and there was no risk of putting holes in my fabric. The Electric Ripper poses no danger to the fabric, only cutting the thread that is placed between the fine, moving blades.
