With great thanks

As we near the end of 2025, our Association has much for which to be thankful. Due to the passage of the Social Security Fairness Act, many public retirees are more financially secure than they were just a year ago. And the work and pending report by the Special COLA Commission brings hope that improvements to the cost-of-living adjustment may be near. However, there are also serious threats to retirees on the horizon. Rapidly rising healthcare costs have resulted in an affordability crisis. This fact is compounded by higher inflation and general economic concerns that have begun to constrain state and local budgets. While we prepare to meet the challenges ahead, it is important to take a moment on to reflect on the past year. We are thankful to each and every one of our members for choosing to be a part of this storied Association and for the support and trust you bestow in us. Our 58-year history is a testament to the great things that can be accomplished through the strength of collective action.
