An unusual musical idea brought to life, "Wolf Rounds" is Christopher Rouse's only composition for wind band. This piece derives its name from the fact that he writes one theme repeating again and again, cycling through to another theme. The entire piece is written like this, and is, in the composer's words, much like the way predatory wolves circle around their prey.
