We’ve been getting lots of questions about the wolverine study, so here’s the update you’ve been waiting for 👀
Wolverines are listed as Special Concern under the Federal Species at Risk Act. They occur at low densities and are sensitive to habitat disturbance. In north-central BC, within the territory of Tsay Keh Dene Nation, past surveys identified high-quality wolverine habitat. Since then, logging, wildfires, and other disturbances have occurred—with no follow-up surveys. So how are wolverines doing now? We’re trying to find out.
