Orthographic mapping is the mental process where the brain stores words into long term memory. This is not a skill that we can teach but we can use word mapping to help that mental process. This video shows using our Word Mapping Mats to map words! Our process is to say the word, segment the sounds and move the chips, spell the sounds, write the word and read the word. We also provide a meaning for the word!
