Follow me: instagram - https://www.instagram.com/firerinart/?hl=en Twitter - https://twitter.com/firerinart STORY: Kale, having run away from his party after being betrayed and abandoned, returns to the home of his partner/lover, a powerful wizard. Though he isn't there, Kale finds one of his journals, which reveals that their relationship was contrived as a means for the wizard to study Kale’s unique ability to have clairvoyant dreams and cast uncontrollable destruction spells. Learning his lover's true intentions breaks Kale; the last person he had given his trust to ended up betraying it, just as everyone else had. While walking through the empty house, Kale reflects on the way his partner had made him a better person, wanting to join him in fighting for others (D&D nerds might recognize the harpers). He even goes so far as to stand in the front line of battle to be next to the man he loves. Kale realizes that although he loved playing a hero, it will not erase the abuse he faced at the hands of his father, or his lifestyle of drinking and sleeping around, won’t erase the monster he sees himself as. Kale is overcome with emotions and arrives at the conclusion that it is best to cut everyone out so he can’t be hurt again. The last part of this animatic is where an old “friend”, the demon Xemani, communes with him after he’s given up, and Kale decides he is willing to surrender himself over to the demon in order to hide from everyon and be free of his hurt. And basically yeah that’s Kale’s villain backstory. Kale and I share a lot of feelings, he's my son but also an extension of myself. Comment below if you have any questions or critique!
