"Worker Bees" 5-10-26
Pastor John continues our Fingerprints of Discipleship series with his sermon, "Worker Bees," looking at Acts 6:1-7. This passage highlights the early church's response to internal challenges. The Twelve Apostles recognized that they could not effectively preach the word of God while also managing the daily distribution of resources.. This was solved by appointing seven men (of good reputation, full of the Spirit and wisdom) to serve and oversee that task. This allowed the Apostles to focus on prayer and the ministry of the word, emphasizing the importance of both spiritual leadership and practical service. Pastor John will focus on what discipleship looks like through the lens of these verses: 1. Our UNIQUE blend 2. An ANSWERED calling 3. A great OUTCOME If you have never attended service here at Southside, we are a small congregation with a big heart and very much like a family. We have a long-standing practice of always having "an empty chair." This means we will always have a place for visitors to come in, hear the Pastor's message, and learn what Southside is all about. Service is held every Sunday with a blend of traditional worship hymns and contemporary Christian music performed by our praise band.
