If you're building an app, there's a very good chance you're working with dates in some way. Whether you have a calendar, booking system, due date, submission date, tracking time frame, or anything else having to do with days, you've likely looked into working with dates. It can be a little tricky, though, because Bubble uses different ways of working with time than you might be used to. With that unfamiliarity could come mistakes in how you set up your date function (whatever it may be). Here's the thing: Bubble stores dates as a UNIX timestamp. UNIX time is technically the number of seconds since January 1, 1970 UTC, which essentially makes it a zone-less value. So, no matter where you are in the world, the number of seconds since that time is the same. Whenever Bubble displays a date/time value though, it automatically converts that value to your local timezone. On the flip side, whenever you save a date/time value to the database, Bubble will convert it to the UNIX equivalent. Time-wise, that's what's going on in the background when working with dates in Bubble. This video shows you a few ways you can manipulate dates on the front-end. _____________________________ 💥 Want to work side by side with our team to launch your app-based business?
