Working with multi-line variable text data in CorelDraw

ReproScripts VDP manager plug-in offers wide possibilities for forming variable data and substituting them into template text objects. The text can be either single-line or multi-line and even spread across several linked frames on different pages. There are several ways to form multi-line variable data. First, multi-line text can be loaded from a csv file. This file format allows you to save text in columns with breaks to new lines, while the column must be enclosed in double quotes. VDP manager allows you to correctly import such data and see how correctly they are processed. Do not forget to check the double quotes activity switch to get the desired result. Then work with multi-line csv data as usual - you must specify the column number that will be used. You can bind multi-line data to both Artistic and Paragraph text objects. After generation, we can see the result of substituting a variable multi-line text. Another possibility of using multi-line text is to add it in the prefix or postfix type both to the data itself and to individual template objects. For example, we can set a multi-line text before or after a number. Such a combined text will be used for all text objects in the template that are assigned this number. If we need to add additional text only for individual objects, we can use their parameter settings and set different prefixes for different objects. Another interesting feature of VDP manager is the support of linked text frames. If you have a fairly large static text that is placed in several linked frames and in which you need to replace only individual elements, then in the template object settings you can specify tokens to be replaced and the data they should be replaced with. When generating, the plugin will search and substitute data into the text, while maintaining the connection of text frames, which guarantees correct flow. This option works with linked frames on one or more template pages. The same linked frames are supported in automatic layout on the printed sheet.
