I opted for a front foot elevated split squat to ensure I got my hip below my knee and it was very effective in make sure that I not only got the depth required but also made me emphasize a good mind muscle connection. I definitely have a harder time with the mind muscle connection on my right side particularly when my hip is flexed but it did get better as I continued my reps. I tried a few other hinge/squat type things to get my right glute to fire through a full range of motion but it was variably successful. All being said the work I did helped the compression in my groin so some continued work will have to be done.
