Hosted by the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center at Purchase College SUNY. Part of the “Teaching during Campus Closure” series: how to use VoiceThread for lectures when you can’t meet with your class. VoiceThread is a tool that we’ve integrated into Moodle, which allows you to assemble slides containing a variety of media; comment on each slide using web cam, audio recording, and/or text; and annotate or mark up each slide as you are discussing it. If you can’t meet face to face with your students, VoiceThread is a good tool for providing presentation materials that you would normally present in class. VoiceThread can also be used for online, asynchronous discussion of the materials presented in your slides, which can provide a means for you to get feedback from your students on the online lectures you post. This workshop will explore the uses and structure of VoiceThreads, demonstrate how to add VT presentations to your Moodle courses, and provide time for hands-on work.
