Content warning: occasional profanity. This episode runs a little long at 49 minutes, mostly because I wind up having a lot to say about AI, even though I'm really, really tired of hearing about AI and don't think there's much new to say. As usual, the first few minutes of this episode is about stuff other than writing. Today it's the big storm that just rolled through. Then we try to get on track with progress reporting but that quickly digresses into editing since I'm in the midst of an edit cycle. This segues into what we do with the stuff that gets cut and a little bit about note-taking applications, and with a mention of Google, the ten minute mark leads straight into Google's decision to "sunset" Gmailify (sunset is Googlespeak for "terminate, kill, purge, destroy"), a feature that allowed people to bring in mail from accounts outside Google. Now Michael's going to be looking at Cherry Tree for notes and Thunderbird for Android for mail. At 12:50 we're back on to writing and progress, where Michael surpasses my current word count, which was what we expected. At 15:44 the AI discussion starts and runs through to 48:13 where @MichaelPinkus-Author asks the question for our next episode. 0:00 Yesterday's Snowstorm 5:47 Progress (1) 9:55 Google killing Gmailify 12:48 Progress (2) 15:44 AI and the Creative Arts 48:13 Next week's question
