Year 13/A2 Pure Chapter 11.2 (Integration)
After introducing the "Standard" results in the last video - and practicing integrating them - we now need to move on to integrating these functions. The formula book provides results for integrating functions of the type ∫f(a𝑥)d𝑥. How may we consider integrating functions of the type ∫f(a𝑥 + b)d𝑥, or even ∫[f(a𝑥 + b)]ⁿd𝑥 ? We explore how u - substitutions can be used to transform integrals into easier functions to integrate. For a quick heads-up on the idea of u-substitution for this lesson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Kcc3dS6o_w This lesson is meant as preparation for Exercise 11B, page 295 of the Pearson Edexcel Pure Mathematics Year 2/A2 Textbook.
