Also known as "Marsch des Yorckschen Korps", this famous traditional march was written by the even more famous (and not so traditional) composer Ludwig van Beethoven, originally for the Austrian archduke Anton of Habsburg in 1809, then renamed the same year as "March fo the Bohemian Landwehr", and renamed once again as the "Marsch des Yorckschen Korps" to honor General Yorck of Wartenburg during the German military campaign 1813-1814 against Napoleon.
One of the most recognizable pieces of German military music, it still plays an important part in military ceremonies and is often played at official events.
