12th of April… - The day when the first time a man flew into space. - The day we released our album Oscillator dedicated to the exploits of astronauts. - And the birthday of my father, who hanged himself when I was 16 years old. Hello! My name is Iordanis Chobanyan. I am the founder and guitarist of the band Bongtower. Since 2018, we have been trying to create original music for you based on the psychedelic Stoner Doom. I am an Armenian by nationality, but I was born in Greece, and it so happened that since 2002 I have been living in Russia. Alas, difficulties await us all. And when you learn to overcome them, you become stronger. In our two Oscillator albums, we were inspired by humanity, regardless of countries and nationalities. And on the last album, Oscillator II, dedicated to the study of the solar system, we specially recorded a song by Pioneer 10, which features a recording of a CBS report that wars are bad, but space is good. And of course Carl Sagan's speech in the last song of the album. My sister lived in Ukraine with two synovias, they had to flee... And if I continue to write something more frankly here, then they can put me in jail for 15 years. I'm not looking for pity, because there are people who are now much worse off than me. I just want to say that there is no more festive mood, no more faith in humanity. How stupid and pointless this is... Now for the consequences: As you know, thousands of sanctions were imposed on Russia. Here are some of them that influenced our group very much. - Our PayPal account has been closed. - Visa Mastercard banking systems were closed. This means that we cannot sell merch and even return your money... - Tariffs for the Russian Post have increased, sending parcels has become more expensive. And the shipping time has increased. - At the moment, all your pre-order merch is ready! (Vinyls are in the making, they will be ready in September). - Because of all this and many other sanctions, we do not have the financial opportunity to send you packages right now ... Before, thanks to you and your support, I devoted 100% of my time only to creating music. I read articles about space, looked for rare records of flights. Wrote lyrics, made all designs, album covers, booklets, t-shirts, etc. Today I recorded a video for you so that you can make sure that all your money was invested in merch. Recently I got a job as a salesman in a music store to earn money and send you your parcels and as soon as I save money I will inform you about sending merch. Given all these difficulties, I hope for your understanding…. Thank you for your patience and support you have inspired us to make music. Sorry for this message, I needed to get it out in a nutshell.
