Intervals of Concavity. Find the second derivative test of y=x^3-3x^2+4. We learn how to find the x-coordinates of all points of inflection (POI), find all discontinuities, and find the open intervals where the function is concave up and concave down of y=x^3-3x^2+4. We first determine where the function is discontinuous. We then take the second derivative of the function to find its critical points. We then apply the second derivative test to see where the function is concave up and concave down. This is a great introduction into the Second Derivative Test.
