Recording of a concert zither played by Anna Karnthaler, showing different Nevaton microphone options, comprising: a pair of the tiny Nevaton MC59uS + 59/C2 cardioids in ORTF, positioned centrally; another pair of the same, also in ORTF, which was set up to the right of centre along with an MC59/H Pro shotgun mic; a quad MC50 in DMS mode (decoded to stereo using Harpex-X); and a pair of MC59/O omnis (very widely spaced at 1.17m). The pieces are by Carl J. F. Umlauf (1824-1902) and comprise: 'Frohsinn auf der Alpe' ('Joy in the Alps'), 'Das Glöcklein im Thale' 'The Little Bell in the Valley') and 'B'hüth' dich Gott!' ('May God Protect You') by Carl J. F. Umlauf (1824-1902). Many thanks to William Eduoard Franck, Head of Direct Sound at the Filmakademie Wien; to Gerald Roßbacher for his assistance; to the team from Nevaton - Dmitry Smolnikov, Egor Semenov and Pavel Kozlov; and, especially, to Anna Karnthaler.
