Police located a large amount of loose cash in the residence of the co-defendant (Melissa Basilio Ruiz), exceeding $250k. The state may pursue charges to aiding a felon in this homicide. When contacted by LE on Jan 26 at 3am, she stated she had not seen codefendant, and she was going to the vet clinic. Her hands and clothing were covered in blood (she attributes to cleaning with bleach). The house was described to be a hoarder house with no recent deep cleaning. Fresh blood on a 9mm gun box, matching the caliber of weapon used in homicide of LSH. She admitted to lying during the preliminary investigation.
