CBSECyberMate has created the video on class chapter binary number. The video deals the steps of deriving 1s complement and 2s complement a binary number. The video gives several examples on how to find 1s complement and 2s complement a binary number. After watching this video you will be able to derive 1s complement and 2s complement a given binary number. However, here we ignore carry over 1 while performing bit wise addition. 5 = 0101 1111 ======== 1010 ------ 1’s Complement of binary. The same can be obtained by changing all 1s to 0 and all 0s to 1. Examples: 1's complement of "0101" is "1010" 1's complement of "1010" is "0101" 1’s complement is used to represent signed binary numbers i.e. we can represent binary numbers in negative forms too. 2’s complement: We find 2’s complement of a binary number by adding 1 to the 1’s complement of the given binary number. For example: 5 = 0101 1111 ======== 1010 ------ 1’s Complement of binary. 1 ------ 1 is added to the LSB (Least significant Bit) ======== 1011 ----- 2’s Complement of 0101. Shortcut way to finding 2’s complement: Step 1: Start from the LSB (right most bit of the binary number) and scan left until we find a 1. This 1 stay the same. Step 2: However, Once we find 1, we flip all the 0s to 1 and 1s to 0 (i.e. 1’s complement) to the left of this first 1. Example: Find 2s Complement of 10010 = 01110 (2’s complement) 2’s complement is also used to represent signed binary numbers i.e. we can represent binary numbers in negative forms too. ============================================================ Watch : Binary addition : https://youtu.be/kSX1GhJ8ayk Playlist on my channel:- Class 8 : https://cutt.ly/fmUMZNc Class 7 : https://cutt.ly/vmUMKXd Class 6 : https://cutt.ly/kmUMSV6 Class 5 :- https://cutt.ly/3mXZ1dR Please Follow - # Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CBSECyberMatePage/ # Twitter https://twitter.com/cbsecyberMate # Instagram https://www.instagram.com/cbsecybermate/
