This segment shows the simplicity of cutting and crowning a barrel. This operation is especially easy when it is done on a new custom barrel. Every is straight and concentric (or at least, it should be), so set up is simplified. I have heard some say it takes two hours to set up and do the job. This must include a lunch break and a wordrobe change.
As far as performance is concerned, the actual configuration of the crown is of little consequence. A crown which is perpendicular to the bore and is burr free will work just fine.
