It is a front-end framework which is used to make websites and applications. It was originally created by a designer and a developer at Twitter in mid-2010. Before being an open-sourced framework, Bootstrap was known as Twitter Blueprint. It is prebuilt with classes and styling which makes it easier to build the UI without having to do anything from scratch. Also, it has got all the media queries like for example the display, viewport knows where the breakpoints are according to different screen sizes. Why use Bootstrap 4? - Easy to use, Bootstrap is very easy to use. Anybody with the basic working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript can start development with Bootstrap. - Responsive features. Using Bootstrap you can easily create responsive websites that appear more appropriately on different devices and screen resolutions without any change in markup - Creates platform-independent web pages. - Open-source and the best part is, it is completely free to download and use. - Save lots of time because of predefined classes and design templates. - Consistent design. All Bootstrap components share the same design templates and styles through a central library, so the design and layout of your web pages will be consistent. Things you can do with Bootstrap 4 : - Can Easily create responsive websites. - Can quickly create a multi-column layout with predefined classes. - Can quickly create different types of form layouts. - Can quickly create different variations of navigation bars. - Can create components like accordions, modals etc without writing any JS code. - Can easily create dynamic tabs to manage large amounts of content. - Can easily create tooltips and popovers to show hint texts. - Can also create a carousel or image slider to showcase your content. - Can create different types of alert boxes. So, Bootstrap 4 is the latest version of its kind. It is responsive by default with a mobile-first approach. It is still in its alpha state, having new features which are very different from Bootstrap 3. Bootstrap 4 solves many problems which we had once, one of which is the cross-browser compatibility issue.
