A Ronin RS 3 Pro Test

Just a test with the following equipment and a couple shots of tequila to get us going. The RavenEye worked very well with my iPhone 11 Pro. For some reason the image was lagging a lot on my iPad Pro (Gen 1). The latency seems low enough to pull focus, but the range leaves a little to be desired. We’ll likely stick to using the Paralinx or Teradek, but it’s good to know the RavenEye is at least usable in certain situations. Once we got the Nucleus Nano properly dialed in, we were actually pretty impressed. The knob feels very similar to the full size Nucleus controller but the limited UI can be frustrating. However, the fact we can power the motor via the USB ports on the Ronin makes power management on a build like this (where low weight is the priority) a lot easier than using any other wireless follow focus system. We’re gonna pop the RED on here next and we expect the performance to be very similar. What a time to be alive.
