This robot interacts purely using a sense of (whisker) touch. The movements of the whiskers are generated by control system modelled on the mammalian brain resulting in the life-like touching (whisking) movements. The robot is fully autonomous. The robot was created through a collaboration between Sheffield Robotics and the Bristol Robotics Lab as part of the EU FP7 BIOTACT project. This video was recorded in 2012.
