In the CAD system, access the parameters of the bolt pattern and change them. Try it. • Find the Mounting Bolt Pattern folder in the design tree. Expand it and locate CirPattern8. Click (single click) on the words CirPattern8 and notice that CirPattern8 becomes highlighted and easy to find in the 3D geometry. This is the feature you’ll now change. • In the design tree, right click on CirPattern8, and find the suppress icon and click it. Notice how the model changed. Right click again and unsuppress it. • In the design tree, right click on CirPattern8, find and click on the edit feature icon. Change the number of instances from 8 to 16, and click the green check mark. Notice the changes to the part. • Change it back to 8 instances using CTRL-Z, or another way. This video accompanies the book Introduction to Mechanical Design with CAD by Christopher A. Mattson. It is a tutorial for Solidworks 2020-2021 edition.
