Adobe Illustrator - Using Simplify to Join Points on a Closed Path!

I find that most tutorials telling you how to join points in Illustrator are referring to anchor points, and their techniques won't work for points on a closed path. Use the Simplify tool and a few extra points to make your extraneous points disappear!
