As a software developer, I’ve been using AI coding assistants like ChatGPT and Copilot, and while they can be helpful, they’re also deeply flawed. AI often lacks the full context of a problem, makes confident but dangerous assumptions, and produces verbose code for simple tasks. Worse, when it doesn’t know the answer, it will happily make things up.
In this video, I talk about why AI coding is broken, how over-reliance on AI is hurting junior developers, and why copying and pasting AI-generated code without understanding it leads to poor code quality and stalled learning.
