In this video I showcase my prototype for AI masking with Darktable. The plugin uses Meta’s Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM2) in the background, and the results look very promising. I’m not doing an installation tutorial right now because SAM3 has just been released, so I’m holding off on updating the plugin until that model is integrated. Stay tuned as this will be exciting . I also haven’t tested the plugin extensively on macOS or Windows yet. When it’s ready, you will be the first to know!
