One evening a while back an evening Northbound Surfliner experienced a mechanical breakdown in Oceanside, CA. With my camera rolling I filmed a southbound train pull into San Diego at Laurel Street. A few minutes later the crew had unloaded their passengers, switched some stuff around the depot to free the protect motor, tied their train down, then then proceeded north with the protect (unit #450) to rescue the failed train. I raced it up to Sorrento Valley and called it a night.
