Learn how to properly test for anaerobes using the following instructions. Trace Analytics, LLC www.airchecklab.com Transcript: In order to properly sample compressed air or gas for anaerobes, you’ll need to complete the following steps. 1. Complete normal microbial sampling procedures and lock plates Once you have completed the steps indicated for normal compressed air sampling, label and lock the media plates. Do not seal these plates with parafilm. If there is no lock available on the plates, simply press the lid down firmly. 2. Place the locked media plates side by side in the plastic pouch labeled, “BD GasPak EZ Pouch System”. Do not stack the plates on top of one another. Up to four plates can fit side by side in the pouch. Make sure that you finish taking all samples for anaerobic testing before proceeding to the next steps. 3. Place anaerobe pouch in the GasPak with the media plates and seal the pouch Once you have taken all your samples, tear open the foil sachet labeled, “BD GasPak EZ Anaerobe Pouch System with Indicator”. Then remove the packet sachet. You can ignore the indicator pill attached. Press the pouch to expel all extra air and then seal the pouch immediately with the press lock. Do not re-open the pouch once it is sealed. Bubble wrap the anaerobic pouch, lay it flat in your insulated bag, and ship back to Trace Analytics. Make sure to follow the steps indicated in your shipping instructions. You’ve now completed testing for anaerobic samples.
