Analog Diet week 1

After eight days on the Analog Diet I have lost 4 pounds. This is the same diet that let me lose over 100 pounds in nine months. I had gained back 20 pounds eating nuts and cheese in the evenings. I am confident I can lose this 20 pounds in two months. That is an aggressive, but not dangerous, weight loss rate for a 6-foot tall guy. The diet is analog since it is a trade-off of the three macro-nutrients, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. The carbs provide the glucose your brain and muscles needs to work. The proteins prevent muscle wasting as I age. The fats provide satiation and prevent hunger pangs. The secret is to only get carbs in vegetables. No bread, pasta, rice, potatoes. No sugar, alcohol, or fruit. All those digest way too quickly and cause high blood sugar, which your body fights with an insulin spike. That spike damages your circulatory system. I suspect your body will release cholesterol to protect the veins and arteries from the damage cause by blood sugar and insulin. Once I get the 20 pounds off, I will not go back to eating so many nuts and such big blocks of cheese. Time for a mid-course correction. I plan on keeping the calories of my main meal lower, so I can have a few nuts and a little cheese in the evening. Most importantly, I plan to keep weighing myself every day like I am doing during this diet.
