Anclote 2

The tide had that familiar pull again as King Baby David, Chris the Destroyer of Makos, and I—the greatest captain without a charter license — set out for Anclote like we owned the water. I thought the tides were turning high… but for some strange reason, I was dead wrong. Didn’t take long before I hooked into a redfish, and I swear on everything — it felt like the same one from last time. Same fight, same attitude… just smaller. Guess he came back for round two and brought less muscle this time. The laughs didn’t last long though. We pushed too far and found ourselves stuck—real stuck—in the shallows. Mud, grass, that swampy mess that grabs your boat like it’s alive. That’s when Chris earned his title again. The Destroyer stepped out, planted those ridiculously powerful legs into the muck, and started pushing. Inch by inch, grunt by grunt, he dragged us through that swampy trap while King Baby David and I kept balance and tried not to make things worse. All while I questioned how the “greatest captain without a charter license” read the tides so wrong. Slowly but surely, the water deepened. We broke free. Back into the Gulf of Mexico, like nothing could stop us.
