Anna Kay Faris (Baltimore, Maryland, November 29, 1976) is an American actress, comedian, and film producer. She rose to fame for her comedic roles, most notably as Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie franchise (2000–2006). In the 2000s, she appeared in drama films such as May (2002), Lost in Translation (2003), and Brokeback Mountain (2005), and in comedies such as The Hot Chick (2002), Waiting... (2005), Just Friends (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), Smiley Face (2007), and The House Bunny (2008). Faris has also provided voice roles in film franchises such as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009–2013) and Alvin and the Chipmunks (2009–2015), as well as The Emoji Movie (2017). In the 2010s, she starred in the comedies What's Your Number? (2011), The Dictator (2012), I Give It a Year (2013), and Overboard (2018). From 2013 to 2020, she played Christy Plunkett on the CBS sitcom Mom. The series earned her critical acclaim and three People's Choice Award nominations.
