Application Process - What to Expect?

Learn about the apprenticeship application process. Apply at https://local169training.com ✔️ Fill out an application ✔️ Set up a time to meet with us for an interview and a written test. This completes Phase 1. If you score well enough, we will invite you back for a physical aptitude test. This is Phase 2. The Physical Aptitude Test checks that you are physically able to perform the work of the trade. There are 5 material handling tasks, ✅ Moving cement blocks ✅ Moving scaffold plank ✅ Moving material with a wheelbarrow. ✅ Driving steel steaks with a sledgehammer, and ✅ A combination of moving block and sand Each task has a criteria and you are scored based on your time. You have to complete all of the tasks to move on. By passing this test, it shows that you are up for the physical demands of the trade. Then you’re ready to begin your apprenticeship. We’ll combine your scores from Phase 1 and Phase 2, and rank you and other applicants.You’ll be called to work based on your score. When you accept your first job, that is when you become an apprentice. That begins your on-the-job training and makes you eligible for additional training.
